Lunch Policies & Procedures

This school year lunch visits will take place on most Thursdays. Our first parent lunch will be on Thursday, September 18. Please read through our lunch visitor expectations below before signing up. The sign up link is shared in each Bronco Bulletin and on our school website. We can’t wait to see you in the cafeteria!

LUNCH VISITOR EXPECTATIONS

1) In order to ensure the safety of our Broncos, please be aware that only parents/guardians are eligible to sign up for lunch visits. If you have an unusual circumstance (such as visiting out of town family or individuals designated as emergency contacts in eSchool for a student would like to have lunch with your student), you will need to contact Mrs. MacDonald directly (ashlea.creel@cfisd.net), AND send a hand written note with parent signature giving your child permission to eat with other visitors. Please only sign up for 1 lunch per month. This ensures all parents have the opportunity to attend lunch with their student.

2) Visitors are limited to 2 adults only. Other school age children are not eligible to be lunch visitors under any circumstance. You may only eat with your student. We know our Broncos have been building wonderful friendships and may ask if their friends can join you, but this is time just for you and your child.

3) While in the cafeteria, remain on the stage. Your child's teacher will be notified that you have signed up for a lunch visit and will send your student to the stage shortly after arriving to the cafeteria. This is not the time to visit with teachers as they are actively monitoring students for safety.

4) Students may not be checked out early piggy-backing on to a lunch visit. Students miss valuable instruction time when they leave early, and we want to keep our Bronco’s minds in tip top shape!

5) You may not video or photograph any child/student but your own. This includes being mindful of other children in the background of photographs. If you are observed to be taking photographs/videos, staff will approach you with a kind reminder to ensure you are not recording other students even by accident.

6) Please arrive 5-7 min before your student's lunch time. This ensures that all parents have time to get a badge printed and seated to enjoy the full lunch period with their child. If you arrive late for lunch, you are not guaranteed to be admitted to your student’s lunch and will be asked to reschedule.

7) Please double check that your child’s schedule to ensure you are signing up for the correct lunch time. If you are unable to sign up for a lunch visit, please do not show up anyways. We know you love your kiddos- we love them too! However, upholding the systems and procedures that are in place help Brosnahan remain safe, efficient and organized for all of our families. The lunch sign up will close at 2:30 pm the day before the date of the parent lunch.

8) We are unable to make exceptions for birthdays or other special dates for parent lunches. If you would like your child to be able to celebrate their birthday at school, you may place an order through the cafeteria for cookies for their class. An order must be placed 3 weeks before the date you would like the cookies to be served to your child’s class. If you would like to do this, please call Brosnahan and ask to speak with the cafeteria manager.
